Here at Alpine Solutions, we are passionate about skiing. We are here to support the teams in the trenches of the ski industry- from master planning and major capital projects to baselining and technical support, we are here for you.

Hi, we are Brendan and Stephanie Ryan. We are a husband and wife team with a combined 35+ years in operations at various ski resorts, both large and small. We love to ski and solve problems- we strive to make running a ski area more cost effective and easier for everyone from owners to the front line staff. It is our mission to serve you and keep the ski industry thriving.
Cold weather windows are shrinking. Energy costs are rising. Natural snowfall is less reliable. Aging infrastructure is problematic.
Effective snowmaking systems have become critical to ensuring resorts can provide a consistent and affordable, high quality guest experience.
We don't just identify problems- we create practical, actionable solutions that resort teams can execute in various capital scenarios. Our operational experience, expertise, and passion yield a comprehensive product that has never been offered before in the ski industry.

Center Conway, N.H., Oct. 6. 2025—A new consulting firm has been created to help ski areas of all sizes operate more efficiently, plan for the future, and navigate infrastructure investments. Alpine Solutions, launched by industry veterans Brendan and Stephanie Ryan, offers a variety of services that can be customized to solve the operational needs of any ski area.
As cold weather windows shrink and energy costs rise, effective snowmaking systems are more critical than ever. Aging infrastructure and staff turnover are just a couple of the common issues ski area operators face that can lead to increased costs, an inconsistent on-hill product, and diminished guest experience.
After years of leading comprehensive infrastructure projects at ski areas across United States, Alpine Solutions principal Brendan Ryan has developed scalable tools and strategies designed to help ski areas in every aspect of snowmaking—from planning and development to team building and operations. The company’s chief operating officer, Stephanie Ryan, has nearly two decades of resort operations experience, primarily managing ski patrol teams.
“There are so many opportunities for ski areas to make more snow using less energy without breaking the bank on an entire system upgrade,” said Brendan, who most recently was vice president of snow surfaces and design for Boyne Resorts. “Our mission is to support the teams with their boots on the ground and help them create a sustainable path forward.”
Some core services Alpine Solutions offers include system baselining to provide a detailed evaluation of current snowmaking operations, in-season technical assistance, technology optimization, infrastructure master planning, multi-step strategic planning, energy rebate acquisition, and more.
During his time working for Mount Snow, Vt., Peak Resorts, and Boyne Resorts, Brendan has not only overseen major snowmaking installations, but he has also made existing snowmaking systems more efficient and productive by leveraging data and engineering to get the most out of what’s there. In doing so, he developed relationships with operators and suppliers across the industry and began to recognize there was a need for the kind of work he was doing, especially for operators of small ski areas.
“There are so many small ski areas that could realize cost savings, make more snow, and create a better product for their guests, but might not have the time or don’t think they have the resources to make meaningful improvements that get positive results,” added Brendan.
“We know how busy ski area teams are just doing their day-to-day work, and we know how hard it is to take the time to step back and think critically about your operation, explore opportunities, and make positive changes,” said Stephanie. “Knowing that we could help these teams in a bunch of different ways was the catalyst for us to start Alpine Solutions.”
